Candle Monkey x The Guardian

This post is a little belated, but I’ve been so busy (and excited) lately creating new jewellery pieces that I’m only just sitting down to write about it properly.

I was beyond excited to be contacted out of the blue by the team at The Guardian for their Lifestyle magazine feature Meltdown on 14th February. They asked if I could supply three of my David candles, along with matching blocks of wax to be melted down in the studio for the photography. The photographs were taken by Tal Silverman, who I shipped everything directly to for the shoot.

Seeing my candles transformed into dramatic molten sculptures for a national magazine feature was incredible, and I’m still slightly obsessed with the whole dark, classical chaos of it all. Huge thanks to The Guardian and Tal Silverman for including Candlemonkey in such a beautifully strange and creative project.
