Inspired by the strange and wonderful world of medieval manuscript marginalia, this handcrafted copper snail charm captures the playful imagination of the Middle Ages.

Snails appeared in illuminated manuscripts as curious little creatures of the natural world, sometimes humorous, sometimes unexpected, and often placed among fantastical scenes where ordinary animals became something more imaginative. With its tiny human-like face and curled shell, this little snail feels like it has wandered straight from the edge of an ancient manuscript.

This piece is entirely handmade by myself from pure copper. Each pendant is subtly unique, reflecting the individuality of handcrafting.

The pendant alone measures approximately 1.7cm.
